Throughout her professional journey, Ana has dedicated her entire career to the field of public education, totaling 18 years of experience as a classroom teacher. Her diverse background includes service in multiple school districts within the surrounding area, holding various roles that have contributed to a comprehensive understanding of the educational landscape. Ana earned a bachelor's degree in Spanish with a double minor in Portuguese and education from Umass Dartmouth, complemented by a master's degree in teaching from the same institution.
While her passion lies in the classroom, she has recently undertaken a certificate of advanced studies in educational leadership, through Bridgewater University, with the aim of extending her impact beyond individual classrooms to a broader school level. In addition to possessing a teaching license for Spanish, Portuguese, and English as a second language, Ana also holds a principal's license, underlining her commitment to holistic educational leadership. Having devoted nine years to Somerset Berkley Regional High School and an additional nine years in urban settings such as Fall River, Brockton, and presently at Taunton High School, Ana's experience spans both suburban and city schools. Ana has taught Spanish, Portuguese, and English as a second language as well as exploratory courses such as culinary. This exposure has afforded her a profound understanding of student needs, insight into the challenges faced by educators, and a vision for enhancing educational opportunities. If elected as a school committee board member, Ana eagerly anticipates bringing a fresh perspective to the table.
